About this project
This forged coffee table with botanical decoration combines traditional blacksmithing with a contemporary approach to design. Hand-formed leaves and climbing stems give the structure an individual organic character.
Manufacture includes:
- Traditional forging at the anvil and hearth: Decorative and supporting components are hand-shaped from hot solid metal for individual details and a sturdy construction.
- Hot-dip galvanising for corrosion protection: After forging, the steel is immersed in molten zinc to create a durable protective coating against corrosion and weather, particularly for outdoor use.
- Powder coating for the surface finish: An even protective finish in a selected RAL colour adds resistance to mechanical wear and UV while completing the appearance.
The frame is prepared for a timber, glass or ceramic top to suit the interior. Standard dimensions are 70x70x40 cm, with custom dimensions available to order.
