Form and character

About this project

This wrought pedestrian gate has a classic ornamental style combining practical function with rich decoration. Botanical motifs, particularly stylised grapevines with bunches of grapes, delicate spirals and decorative components create an individual, refined entrance.

Each component is made by traditional hand forging. The anvil and forge are used to hand-shape the steel after heating. This produces individual, precise details. The process gives the components mechanical strength and durability.

The gate receives a two-stage protective treatment for long-term weather and corrosion resistance:

  • Hot-dip galvanising provides lasting corrosion protection. Immersion in molten zinc at approximately 450°C forms a durable protective coating. This protects the steel from weather exposure and extends service life. The coating forms an iron-zinc alloy barrier.
  • Powder coating provides an attractive final finish. Powder paint is applied and cured in an oven. The finish resists mechanical damage, UV radiation, chemicals. The colour can be selected to suit the project. The galvanised surface is prepared before coating, which is bonded and cured in the oven. A typical finish is classic matt black with a patina.

The gate is designed to provide lasting, attractive property security while retaining its practical function over many years.

From concept to installation

How your project takes shape

  1. Site survey and design

Site survey and adaptation to the ground profile.

  2. Forging and welding

Hand-forming steel in a traditional forge and fitting the gate leaves.

  3. Galvanising and painting

Immersion at 450°C (ISO 1461) plus oven-cured powder coating.

  4. Installation and automation

Resin anchoring without welding at the customer’s property.

Material and craftsmanship

Construction details

Hand-forged steel

Certified weldable S235JR / C45 steel. Traditional forge forming and precise fitting of components.

Surface protection

Hot-dip galvanising (PN-EN ISO 1461, coating thickness 70–85 µm) plus electrostatically applied polyester powder coating in your chosen RAL colour.

Automation-ready design

Reinforced structural sections and pre-installed conduits for drive systems from leading brands (FAAC, Nice, Somfy).

Structural fixing

High-load chemical anchors. No welding on site preserves the intact galvanised coating.

What determines the price?

The price depends on the clear opening dimensions, material thickness and infill density, ground profile, opening mechanism and selected automation system.
