Form and character

About this project

This double-leaf wrought driveway gate combines practical function with timeless craftsmanship. Every component is carefully shaped through traditional forge and anvil work for individual character and strength.

The design features:

  • Overhead arch: An elegant curved form adds visual lightness and a distinctive architectural accent.
  • Classic decoration: Forged finials, volutes and stylised elements reflect the richness of traditional artistic blacksmithing.
  • Sturdy construction: Quality steel provides stability and security for lasting use.

The gate receives a two-stage protective treatment for long-term weather and corrosion resistance:

  • Hot-dip galvanising: The complete assembly is immersed in molten zinc to form a thick, even protective layer for lasting corrosion resistance beyond a paint-only finish.
  • Powder coating: After galvanising, powder paint is applied and cured at high temperature. It provides an attractive finish resistant to mechanical damage, UV radiation and changing weather in a broad colour range.

Dimensions and details can be adapted to individual architectural requirements to suit the character of the property.

Material and craftsmanship

Construction details

Hand-forged steel

Certified weldable S235JR / C45 steel. Traditional forge forming and precise fitting of components.

Surface protection

Hot-dip galvanising (PN-EN ISO 1461, coating thickness 70–85 µm) plus electrostatically applied polyester powder coating in your chosen RAL colour.

Automation-ready design

Reinforced structural sections and pre-installed conduits for drive systems from leading brands (FAAC, Nice, Somfy).
