Form and character

About this project

This hand-forged pedestrian gate with grapevine motifs combines precise craftsmanship with durable materials. A rich central composition of carefully detailed leaves and bunches of grapes gives the gate an individual, naturalistic character.

Each component is made using traditional hand forging. Steel is heated in the forge and shaped at the anvil, allowing the blacksmith to create delicate scrolls and realistic botanical details. Individual craftsmanship gives the design its distinctive artistic character.

Hot-dip galvanising protects the steel against corrosion. Immersion in molten zinc creates a durable coating that shields the structure from the weather, reduces the need for frequent maintenance and helps preserve its appearance.

Powder coating adds the chosen colour and a decorative finish. It also forms an additional protective layer resistant to scratches, UV radiation and weather, increasing durability and making the gate suitable for everyday use.

Key features:

  • Hand-forged elements with grapevine motifs
  • Traditional blacksmithing techniques
  • Hot-dip galvanising for corrosion protection
  • A decorative, durable powder-coated finish

Material and craftsmanship

Construction details

Hand-forged steel

Certified weldable S235JR / C45 steel. Traditional forge forming and precise fitting of components.

Surface protection

Hot-dip galvanising (PN-EN ISO 1461, coating thickness 70–85 µm) plus electrostatically applied polyester powder coating in your chosen RAL colour.

Automation-ready design

Reinforced structural sections and pre-installed conduits for drive systems from leading brands (FAAC, Nice, Somfy).

Structural fixing

High-load chemical anchors. No welding on site preserves the intact galvanised coating.
