Form and character

About this project

This wrought driveway swing gate with decorative leaf motifs combines traditional craftsmanship with modern protective treatments. Sturdy construction and subtle detailing create a harmonious property entrance.

The design uses a classic swing-gate form with distinct vertical bars and an arched top line. Integrated hand-forged leaf and branch motifs add botanical character. Skilled artistic blacksmiths form every detail using traditional anvil and forge techniques.

The gate receives a two-stage protective treatment for long-term weather and corrosion resistance:

  • Hot-dip galvanising by immersion: The steel assembly is immersed in liquid zinc at around 450°C. The resulting durable zinc coating provides cathodic corrosion protection for long-term exposure to changing weather.
  • Powder coating: After galvanising, powder paint is applied electrostatically and cured at high temperature. It forms an even, smooth coating resistant to mechanical damage and UV radiation, adding protection for the zinc and an attractive finish.

The gate can be precisely mounted using expansion fixings or chemical anchors without on-site welding, helping prevent local corrosion at mounting points.

From concept to installation

How your project takes shape

  1. Site survey and design

Site survey and adaptation to the ground profile.

  2. Forging and welding

Hand-forming steel in a traditional forge and fitting the gate leaves.

  3. Galvanising and painting

  4. Installation and automation

Resin anchoring without welding at the customer’s property.

Material and craftsmanship

Construction details

Hand-forged steel

Certified weldable S235JR / C45 steel. Traditional forge forming and precise fitting of components.

Surface protection

Hot-dip galvanising (PN-EN ISO 1461, coating thickness 70–85 µm) plus electrostatically applied polyester powder coating in your chosen RAL colour.

Automation-ready design

Reinforced structural sections and pre-installed conduits for drive systems from leading brands (FAAC, Nice, Somfy).

Structural fixing

High-load chemical anchors. No welding on site preserves the intact galvanised coating.

What determines the price?

The price depends on the clear opening dimensions, material thickness and infill density, ground profile, opening mechanism and selected automation system.
