Form and character

About this project

This wrought driveway swing gate combines intricate artistic blacksmithing with a durable structure. The design draws on classic patterns, enriched with botanical motifs and carefully formed grapevine details.

Traditional blacksmithing and finishing techniques include:

  • Hand forging: Decorative leaves, grapes and S-scrolls are hand-shaped at the anvil and forge, giving each piece individual character.
  • Hot-dip galvanising: Immersion in molten zinc provides comprehensive corrosion protection, including in difficult-to-reach recesses, for long-term use in changing weather.
  • Powder coating: After galvanising, powder paint is applied and cured at high temperature. The coating is even and resistant to mechanical damage and UV radiation, with a broad colour range to suit the surroundings.

The gate fits between posts and can be integrated with swing-gate automation.

Material and craftsmanship

Construction details

Hand-forged steel

Certified weldable S235JR / C45 steel. Traditional forge forming and precise fitting of components.

Surface protection

Hot-dip galvanising (PN-EN ISO 1461, coating thickness 70–85 µm) plus electrostatically applied polyester powder coating in your chosen RAL colour.

Automation-ready design

Reinforced structural sections and pre-installed conduits for drive systems from leading brands (FAAC, Nice, Somfy).
