About this project
This forged letterbox combines traditional craft with practical use. Its sturdy classic form features a rounded cover imitating roof tiles, creating a timeless detail for classic or rustic houses.
Each component is made using traditional artistic blacksmithing. Heated metal is shaped by hand on the anvil with a hammer and specialist tools, producing individual, durable details.
Hot-dip galvanising protects the letterbox against corrosion. Immersion in molten zinc creates a durable metallic coating that protects the steel from weather and supports long service life.
The final finish is powder coating. Electrostatic powder is applied to the galvanised surface and heat-cured, producing a smooth matt finish resistant to scratching, fading and UV.
